Coal leaves the gate.
Then it’s in the dark.

Every load is weighed out at the mine and weighed in at the buyer. Everything between those two weighbridges is the public road network — the one stretch of the chain where most operators have no eyes. When the buyer’s bridge reads short, there are two open questions: what happened on a road nobody watched — and whether the first ticket was ever true.

Theft & hijacking

Loads taken outright between gate and offtake — and nobody can say where the trip went wrong.

Quality product exchanged for discard mid-route. The truck arrives. The coal doesn’t.

Vehicles that leave the corridor, vanish for an hour, and reappear lighter than they left.

Operator collusion

The weighbridge prints whatever the operator keys in. Where the operator is part of the scheme, the falsified figure becomes the official record — recorded, stamped, and wrong.

Disputed shortfalls

The variance only surfaces at the buyer’s weighbridge — and with no record of the road between, and no independent check on the tickets at either end, nobody can prove it either way. So everybody pays.
